Helix earth anchor:
A helical/ helix earth anchor/pile is an extendable deep foundation system with helical bearing plates welded to a central steel shaft. Anchors are used in tension applications and piles are used in compression applications. Load is transferred from the shaft to the soil through these bearing plates.
All the helix earth anchors are manufactured from steel that conforms to ASTM A-36 M1020 standards. Holding strength is based on clay soils which are of hard to medium density. The holding strength is reduced in softer less dense soils and sandy soils. To ensure maximum holding strength, anchor must be installed to full depth with the bottom of eyelet at ground level. Anchor eyelets are always weld closed.

This ground anchor model WILL NOT provide adequate holding power to meet design wind load requirements in soils with a test probe reading lower than 350 inch lbs. or if anchor is installed "In Line" with frame tie. Do not use torque probe or install an nchors until you have confirmed there are no power lines, phone lines, cable lines, etc. beneath surface of installation area.
Ground Anchors will not provide adequate wind storm protection unless installed as per installation instructions. The Deep Set anchor has not been designed for use on exposure "D" homes within 1500 feet of the coastline.
