  • Product Introduction

Percussion Driven Earth Anchors (PDA) is a device designed to support structures, most commonly used in geotechnical and construction applications. Also known as a ground anchor, earth anchor or mechanical anchor, it is impact driven into the ground. PDAs are used in both temporary or permanent applications, including supporting retaining walls, guyed masts, and large tents.

PDEAs are devices used to secure structures in soil, rock or other types of ground. They consist of a steel rod or lance with a cone-shaped tip and hollow shaft. The Percussion Driven Earth Anchors is inserted into the ground and then subjected to blows with a hydraulic hammer, which drives the anchor deeper into the soil.

As the anchor penetrates the soil, the cone at the end compresses the soil laterally, creating a denser zone around the anchor. This zone of denser soil provides resistance and an increase in pulling capacity for the anchor. The hollow shaft of the anchor is then filled with grout, which further secures the anchor in place.

PDEAs are typically used for applications such as guy wires for transmission towers, retaining walls, and soil stabilization for transportation projects. Percussion Driven Earth Anchors have several advantages over traditional anchors, such as faster installation times, reduced need for excavation and backfilling, and a smaller environmental impact.
